Beginning in February, the monthly meditation sessions that meet the third Saturday at 9 a.m. will be expanded to begin exploring some of the basic principles of mindfulness and insight meditation. As always, the meetings are open to all, from the new beginner wanting to learn about meditation for stress relief, to those with a long-term, daily practice. We will begin with a brief silent meditation, then after a short break share a CD recording or printed excerpt as material for a group discussion. To begin, we will focus on the seven points outlined by Jon Kabat-Zinn in his book "Full Catastrophe Living" as the attitudinal foundation of mindfulness. (See the schedule below for a listing of the seven topics.) All are welcome! Come relax and reflect in a comfortable environment with some mellow folks! Contact Susie at 609-3437 with any questions or to request a topic printout. (NOTE: The same schedule will be used with the group that meets the first Sunday at 9 a.m. at First Unitarian; if you miss a session or would like more discussion, all are welcome at either meeting.)
